Progetto Itaca follows the dictates of the operating manual SPRAR to manage the reception for the benefit of international protection applicants.
The entry interview and the reception contract are among the first tasks of the reception service carried out at the time of entry. At that moment, the asylum seeker is informed about regulation to share and respect; this allows a first mutual knowledge with the operators who will follow him in the recaptioning path. They will be informed about rights and obligations, timetables, modalities and rules. The operators will read and share the contract with the host and he will be invited to sign it. The local authorities are committed to insuring the reception service and to provide several services; the host is committed to respect the regulation, learn the Italian language, and realize first-hand his own inclusion project.
To follow, will be organized a counseling meeting aimed to prepare a personal file and start the building of a personalized project, which means an individual contingency plan aimed to program and verify ongoing the inclusion process. The beneficiary will be solicited and supported through the active participation.
