Pedagogical Area

Clinical pedagogists don’t address pathology or sick people, they address the person, who lives with discomfort the changes s/he has to face during his/her life. The word “clinical” refers to the verb “to care” and so it is based on the principle of “human assistance“. Thanks to thier competences, pedagogistics address people of all ages and, after an accurate pedagogical evaluation, they propose an educational process characterized by social-relational and emotional dimensions.
The expert has the purpose to identify the potentiality and ability of every person: s/he doesn’t correct, takes care of, teaches or trains but, strating from a discomfort, the expert helps the person to reach a new physical and mental balance. It is in this context that s/he cooperates with Progetto Itaca.

Starting from an analysis of the oersonal experience, essential to understand feelings, the expert deals withcreating an atmosphere which leads the person towards his/her development. The pedagogist works also with people who show learning difficulties. It happens, in fact, that even if some people have been living nere in Italy for a long time and have been going to Italian school, they still don’t achieve to learn Italin language bases. In addition, for other people, it may be hard to understand the tasks they are given, even if explained in their own language. This prevents people from actively taking part to community life. Pedagogist analyses potentialities and causes of the failure and tries to follow that person through a personal growth path.
