The Service Charter is online!

The Service Charter is a a tool to facilitate dialogue between Progetto Itaca and the community, between operators and users to provide informations about Coop, services, rights, legal obligations and about reality we are dealing with.

Abeba goes to Holland

Mother, woman, Eritrean with two daughters Salim and Lidia at her back. One certainty to chase: arriving in Holland to be reunited with her brother that lives in the land of tulips since long ago. One procedure to follow: relocation. What we are talking about? Relocation, in Italian “ricollocazione”..

Refugee = Migrant ?

Today, we have tried to search the word refugee on Google Images. And then, we searched migrant. What came out? Images quite similar. They were full-of-people boats, sitting and waiting people, children in arms and hoping hands. So, what changes one to the others? Let’s try to answer this question taking into consideration UNHCR which is an authoritative source for migration flows.

And suddenly we found ourselves in an African village

Klaus and Arianna are two volunteers. They put themselves out there with passion in order to teach Italian daily life to asylum seekers. They use gestures, words and different ways of communication. In this way, they want to make asylum seekers closer to local community in which their reception facilities are.

Experiencing questions in a school!

We’re in a little town, in a secondary school made of 13-year-old guys. Many personalities emerge from their eyes: positivity, emotion, doubt, prejudice, feelings that arise from news mainly heard on the tv or gained through debates in their belonging family. The topic is wide and turbulent: immigration.

Let’s talk about forced migration

In 2015, as reported by the annual Global Trends of UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), the number of people forced to leave their own countries was 65.3 million. Globally it means that 1 in 113 people is an asylum seeker, or an internally displace person or a refugee.
